About this image
NGC4684 in Virgo is an elliptical galaxy only 2.8 x 1.1 arc/minutes in size. It shows strong evidence of mergers with minor satellite galaxies with a possible faint loop type star stream.
This image has been inverted and contrast enhanced to help display the possible star streams and other interaction features.
